Antique 1901 twisted butter/cheese knife by International Silver "Orleans" pattern silverplate by Rogers Co - from a New England estate

Silver plate twisted style butter or cheese knife - 1901, R.C. Co. (Rogers) Design/style, "Orleans" (Silverplate, 1901) by International Silver.

Some pitting, scratches etc from use and storage, not bad for 120 yrs old!

Hoping to find a good match, a good home for this piece from an New England estate.



(We all are wondering if this design was fashioned with Orleans, Cape Cod in mind, considering the shell design.)

We have exercised reasonable effort to describe each item we sell, correctly and accurately. History:
We are a woman-owned estate sales business run by several busy women.
We have artists among us, in addition to our estate sales we offer items made in our shared workshop.

We started this store during the pandemic, when in-person sales were impossible. We've decided to continue here, along with our in-person work.
Estate sales are recycling or upcycling.
It amazes us how much some who clear estates, throw away. That means many missed opportunities, estate sales, to us, is the ultimate form of recycling or upcycling. There's always someone who will match with an item, it's just a matter of making the effort to find the right person and make that match, .

We are grateful that we are now part of this Etsy community.----

A personal note about selling on Etsy from our store owner, we put our own store at risk by posting this message, but we have not received answers from Etsy about these concerns:
We are disappointed to see so many items for sale on Etsy that do not comply with Etsy policies. We take Etsy rules and policies seriously and comply them. When items we have to sell do not qualify per Etsy rules and policies, we sell them on other online platforms and in person, we do not and will not violate Etsy policies. Items that are not handmade should not be listed as handmade. Items that are not vintage should not listed as vintage. Examples we see often are the planters we purchase from floral suppliers to use with Sola arrangements, sold here on Etsy by other sellers as handmade or vintage planters. This is unfair to those who make similar items by hand. It is impossible for artists to compete with factory-made.
Please, if you see something listed as handmade or vintage, that you suspect is imported and or factory made, ask the seller to clarify, and report the item to Etsy.
Help us keep Etsy honest and true to it's advertising.
