25 - 2 3/4 to 3 1/2 inch New England winter oysters -cup side oyster shells - see photos

Because of the thickness and porous nature of the shells, these are soaked in a bleach solution and bleached on an outdoor rack for months. These were harvested (by family) and shucked for dinner. Please see photos for shapes and peeling.
Oyster shells may have blunted tips and odd shell shapes because they attach to rocks and other shells as they grow and sometimes grow in clusters. Please see photos of the shells offered.
These shells may have outer layers that fake, as is the nature of an oyster shell. Some of these may have pieces of other shells on the outer shell as they also attach to quahog shells as well as other oysters.

The shells photographed in this listing are the shells you will receive.

25 - 2 3/4" to 3 1/4" Cup side oyster shells.


No New England oyster shell is the same, and none are perfect.
Please be sure to study photos for details.


These shells have sharp edges! Ask anyone who shucks them for a living.
We've done a quick sanding of a couple of the lower sharper edges, but if you aren't familiar with these New England oysters, they have layers of that can be sharp.
They tend to flake until the weakest parts of the fan are gone.


I wrap each separately when shipping to preserve the fans and layers. Some oysters are heavy, as reflected in the shipping costs.
